Most people have heard of the legendary Tarzan, who was rescued and then raised by the great apes of Africa. This was the first Tarzan book written by Edgar Rice Burroughs. It describes how Tarzan grew and learned in the jungle, brought up by his fierce and protective foster mother, Kala. Tarzan learned so well that he grew up to become leader of his tribe of apes, only to be discovered by the outside world and his biggest adversary of all — man.
