The war is imminent and Evelyn is at its helm.

Possessing more new titles and having their Centurion identities revealed, Evelyn and Emrys are forced to do damage control ahead of the war. Making promises and deals while managing their untrustworthy double-agent in the Unseelie Court, they begin to chafe under their new restraints.

During an unsanctioned mission, an enemy Unseelie calls in Emrys Heart’s Desire command where he must infiltrate the Vampire Court alone. Unwillingly separated, Evelyn tries to manage the Seelie Court without him while keeping his whereabouts under wraps.

As time passes and Emrys’s absence is noted, Evelyn decides to go after him. It’s there they learn of all the immoral lengths the Unseelie Court will go to to win the war, the sacrifices the Seelie Court must make to stand a chance against them, and that it all must end where it began.
