Then early in the history of the Great Salt Lake valley, Issac Smith Potter and his family entered in a covered wagon and built a home in Springville. At first they built one home, and then they built one for Issac, better known as Ike.
Several things were very important to Ike. Family, friends, and to leave a mark in life. A man’s hands can build, and he wanted to leave a mark with his hands. Just as important to him were friends. He knew that good friends last forever, and he wanted nothing more than that. When his friends turned on him, that was one of the most hurtful things of his life. The Indian friends he had never turned their backs on him, and he came to realize who his true friends were.
