If obscenity exists in existing literature, there is no good reason to make it a major problem. If people want to be protected from the dangers of pornography, they should be given a chance to understand what is art and what is not and why art is better and higher than pornography, morality, politics and economics. To one who becomes acquainted with the pleasures of art, obscenity will itself become insipid. No reader, at least in his sanity, would want to touch obscene literature. The most subtle distinction between pornography and art is that art gives new pleasure every time, while pornography only the first time.
