Barrymore Dundreary St. John has a low-wage job dismantling old and wrecked motor vehicles for parts. Although not a luxurious job, even for a Londoner during the Great Depression, everything changes when he unexpectedly receives a large sum from his late great-uncle. He happily abandons his squalid life but gets overwhelmed with spending to establish himself in luxury.

It’s then that Barry St. John meets an eccentric young woman with whom he falls in love, and more troubles of navigating his newly wealthy life come washing ashore . . .
